It is almost a 1/2 inch wider or deeper, however you want to look at, from the soundboard to the back so for someone with smaller build or shorter arms, it gets uncomfortable playing after several hours. The biggest problem I have noticed other than what another reviewer mentioned about slipping out of your lap, is that I must not have sufficient length of arms to comfortably wrap my strumming arm around the body of the guitar. It is claimed that the unique back will create a louder acoustic sound, create its own distinguishing tone, and the compound used will not shrink or crack as natural wood can over the ages or from harsh use.
